We’ve shared Jason Hawkes’ awe-inspiring photography many times before, but this is something a little bit different. Hawkes, who — in an excellent example of nominative determinism — is known for his breathtaking birds-eye shots of London, has released new aerial footage of his exploits, and it’s pretty damn beautiful.
The footage was captured from a helicopter and includes shots of Westminster, Canary Wharf, Battersea and Buckingham Palace. See the Shard sparkle in the dappled dawn sunlight. Watch the O2 Arena glowing at night. If you look closely enough, you might even be able to spot your own street.
With so many of us stuck inside, it’s a bittersweet reminder that, in these challenging times, London still looks as majestic as ever — at least from above.
