Ghana’s Black Satellites beat Niger to reach WAFU finals

ACCRA, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) — Ghana’s male U-20 national team, the Black Satellites Tuesday beat Niger 5-3 on penalties to reach the finals of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) zone B cup of nations currently ongoing in Benin.

The win also qualified Ghana for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritanian next year.

Ghana, a three-time African champion, will be making a record 11th appearance at the competition.

The last time Ghana qualified for the African youth championship was in 2015.
